Our Rooms
Our Baby Unit is designed as one room to take 12 children with 4 staff
members. The room divides to separate the movers (Butterflies) from the non-movers (Caterpillars) yet works as one unit to provide flexible care.
The children in the Baby Unit are aged from 3 months to about 2.5years. The children enjoy a range of toys and activities, walks and playtimes in the garden that are devised around the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
They enjoy the same delicious food at mealtimes and have breadsticks, rice cakes, fruit etc for breaks and water to drink all day. We also have a dedicated sleeproom with a selection of cots and sleep mats.
Our Pre-school Unit, called Bumblebees, caters for 24 children aged about 2.5 to school age with 5 staff members. we also rum a small afterschool club picking up from local schools
Each child has access to a range of toys, activities and equipment that is organised and rotated daily to meet the needs of that group and individual children.
As children enter their final pre-school year a greater emphasis is put on meeting the EYFS through thorough planning, observation and evaluation. This includes encouraging children to use their own play, free hand drawing and creativity, expression through roleplay, music and drama, investigation, questioning and exploration, and building on thier self-esteem and self-worth through rewards and praise.
